Major Contributions:
  • Promoted to directly support business development efforts contributing to firm’s achievement of winning more than 40% of contracts for which firm was invited to formally present a proposal in a highly specialized and competitive niche.
  • Managed RFP and RFQ process from initiation of proposal opportunity to submission. Developed initial draft of proposal (15-30 pages) according to RFQ specs, routed for internal review by business development and architect teams, implemented edits, produced and submitted to clients often under tight deadlines. Delivered twenty-five proposals in 2004.
  • Developed presentations for team to deliver when invited to interview for contract awards. Produced 12 interview presentations in 2004. Firm was awarded five contracts worth $6M+.
  • Coordinated subcontractor relationships as needed to support proposals. Identified specialists by qualifications specific to contract needs, evaluated each firm/subcontractor and selected on behalf of CSDA. Created subcontractor e-filing system by discipline/location for future use.
  • Developed marketing collateral to support all phases of sales cycle. Produced brochures, job sheets, firm profile pieces and team resumes to be included in proposal and presentation packets.
  • Designed print advertisements for industry and local publications including CASH Register, Airport Magazine and Catholic San Francisco. Managed all aspects of design, internal review and delivery for publication on time.
  • Coordinated quarterly six-page newsletter delivered to firm’s 55 employees. Conceived of topics, gained President’s approval, identified employee authors (project architects) and managed content submission process. Delivered draft with all articles and associated images in newsletter layout for approval, then printed and distributed to all staff in SF, LA and Phoenix offices.
  • Identified an opportunity to significantly improve the firm’s web presence by re-designing the existing three-page website. Gained approval for re-design proposal from firm management. Presented three design concepts for new website to the management team. One was selected and with additional input from the firm directors a final website design was coded and launched at www.csdarchitects.com. Personally coded the entire site within one month.
  • Proposed website redesign three years later to incorporate a showcase of firm’s best work. Initiated initial design prior to formal approval demonstrating a cleaner, fresh look. www.csdarchitects.com/csda-2004.htm.
  • Developed new website and brochure to brand a new business market the firm was entering. This new service would allow Architects and Designers to drag and drop manufacturers’ products into their design software (AutoCAD and Architectural Desktop) through an “i-drop” enabled website. Researched i-drop technology, developed the site and designed the product brand, a 3D box logo, and created a Flash demo for the service. www.aeccontent.com
  • Created historical project data files to enable efficient access to critical data needed in preparation for future proposals. Developed template for gathering/storing data by project to include: client detail, budget, construction estimate, bid results, etc.
  • Organized image library hard and electronic files by project for more efficient access and long term archival. Hard files, including prints, slides and negatives were indexed in binders by project. Prior system was a box with no formal organization. Electronic photos were organized in .jpg and .tiff formats by project with printed thumbnails in a binder for ease of future viewing.
